Open role
Traveling Renovation Crew Member
Full-time traveling renovation crew role with NR Building Solutions, based in Houston. Interior and exterior work in manufactured housing communities across the region.
Before you apply
This role requires all of the following. We are telling you now rather than at the end so you do not spend your time on an application that cannot go anywhere.
- Valid driver's licence
- Pre-employment drug screening
- Background check
- Reliable transportation to our Houston yard
You will be renovating homes in manufactured housing communities — demolition, subfloor, flooring, walls, paint, kitchens and baths, skirting and exteriors. Whole communities at a time, not one scattered work order after another.
This is a traveling role. Crews go to the community and stay near it for the length of the programme rather than driving home every night. If you want to be home every evening, this is not the right job and we would rather you knew that from the listing.
What the work actually is. Most days are one scope repeated across several homes — a floor crew doing floors, a paint crew painting. You get good at something rather than doing a different trade every day. Homes are single and double-wide manufactured units, not site-built houses, and the methods are genuinely different. We will teach you those.
What we are looking for. Reliability first. Construction experience helps and it is not required — several of our best crew members started with none. If you show up, work safely, and treat residents and their homes with respect, we can teach the rest.
Working in an occupied community. People live where we work. Children play there. That means site conduct is part of the job rather than an afterthought: no radios, tidy at the end of every day, park where you are told, and route anything a resident asks you to the site lead.
Safety. Orientation before your first day on a site. Toolbox talks every week. Fall protection on roof work regardless of how short the job is. PPE is issued, not expected.

The rotation schedule, the per diem, the lodging arrangement and what a typical deployment looks like are all set out on one page rather than left for you to ask about in an interview.
Traveling crew lifeRecruitment fraud notice
People impersonate construction companies to defraud job seekers. It is common, it works because our industry hires quickly and informally, and it costs people money they cannot spare.
NR Building Solutions will never, under any circumstances:
- Ask you to pay for anything — training, equipment, a background check, or a uniform
- Ask for your bank details, card number or Social Security number before an offer
- Send you a cheque and ask you to forward part of it anywhere
- Make you an offer without a conversation with a real person at NRBS
- Conduct hiring entirely over a messaging app
Every genuine offer from us follows a conversation with someone at NRBS whose name you know. If something you have received does not match that, it did not come from us — call (713) 923-0835 and we will tell you straight away.
